Thursday Thoughts.

I knew I should have just done the crossword and the word scrambler in the newspaper this morning, but I went and spoilt it all by reading the news as well, and as always ended up being incensed.  Apparently in order to make our way in the world after bloody Brexit, we will be increasing…

Monday Mobile Moments ~ PIP app

My latest app acquisition for the iPhone, is also available on android, and is called PIP (picture in picture).  Meant for the selfie generation (of which I am not) it’s a fun app with several ways to make a picture inside a picture. It’s easy enough to use, though full of annoying adverts for more…

Film Friday

Sad I can’t use the Rolleiflext until I can get it into Newcastle for a fix, but I still have the polaroid SX-70 to play with.  Hit and miss on focus as always but it never seems to matter.  I will call them soft~focus rather than blurry as  f*@k 🙂

Thursday Thoughts

The weather is crap. All day grey, dark and rain.  Last week I wrote that I was looking forward to the colours of Autumn, but this isn’t quite what I meant!  But, I have a roof on my house, the garden furniture is still in the garden, soaked, but there, my car is not upside…

Monday Mobile Moments ~ Hipstamatic

I think of all the millions of photography apps for the iPhone that are available, Hipstamatic is my absolute favourite and the one I use most.  Released in December 2009,with version 100, we are now on 339 and the app is still going strong.  It simulates different films and lenses, which you can use in…

Across The Pond ~ August 2017

Our ongoing collaboration of iPhone photography (details HERE).  For August it was Kathy’s turn to choose the theme, and she chose ‘use the Plotograph app’, which I featured back in the blog HERE Of course it’s not possible to do them as a diptych so have run them together in a short video.  Mine are…

Thursday Thoughts

After the summer or lack of it that we had up here, I am really looking forward to the end of it. Autumn will be along shortly, and that is the best time for photography, well apart from spring, and sunny days by the sea, and snowy scenes 🙂 but seriously, I love the colours…

Monday Mobile Moments ~Gudak app review.

I came across this fun little app, based on the old Kodak instant cameras.  In this day of instant phone camera shots it’s a bit of a kick back to days of film, when you have to wait to see what you shots you took.  As you can see from the view finder at the…

Thursday Thoughts

It was my birthday this week, on Tuesday. No big deal really, I worked all day and my boss and our office manager both bought me a card and some bottles of wine, my hubby, who likes to buy me ‘things I need’ rather than fripperies (as he calls bling and other things I don’t…

Monday Mobile Moments

I was clearing out my iPhone album this weekend to free up some space, and was struck by how many photo’s of signs I’ve taken in the past few years. SO I thought I’d share a few here and entitle my post The Signs Of (my) Life Which one’s your fave?   Have a good…

Friday Film Shot

Last weekend Sophie and I went to track down some not very well known ruins, Cresswell Hall, of which little is left other than the stables and part of the colonnade, and afterwards we went to Druridge Bay which had a vintage car fair on. Full reports on The Universe blog to come.  Still having…

Thursday Thoughts

This week I have been seeing, and reading, a lot about the Charlottesville debacle.  It is so disturbing, and what strikes me is that it now appears more ‘mainstream’ to be such a thing, no masks, no white pointy hats down to the shoulders, full face frontal hatred and bigotry on display.  This is not…
